Down in the East Texas town called Houston, I fell in love with a Colorado team...

Date: 5/12/2006
Position: 1st NL West
Games Back: --
Magic Number: 128

Tonight, Jason Jennings (2-2, 4.70) faces off against Fernando Nieve (1-1, 5.55) in a cross-division matchup between the Houston Astros and your Colorado Rockies.

The Rockies swept the Astros last week at Coors Field, including a 9th inning collapse by Brad Lidge, an 8IP, 2ER effort from Aaron Cook, and a complete game shutout from Jason Jennings.

Jennings hopes to recreate that magic in Minute Maid Park, against the recently struggling Astros. The Astros are coming off of a 1-2 series in LA against the Dodgers, where they were beaten overall 17-23.

Last outing at Coors, Nieve gave up 5ER in 5.2 IP, including a Todd Helton 3-run homer.

Cook gave up a 2nd-inning single run shot to Jason Lane, but spent the rest of the day thwarting Houston bats.

Matt Holliday hopes to extend his 6-game hitting streak, during which he has 4HR, 5RBI, and 8 runs scored.

So here's to Jennings, may his arm lead the Rockies to more glory over Houston. Enjoy the game, Good Luck, and GO ROCKIES!!!
